Privacy policy

How Rose Agencies handles the personal information you share with us through this website, by email or by phone.

This policy explains how Rose Agencies (“we”, “us”) handles personal information. Rose Agencies is a souvenir and giftware sales agency run by Stephen Cutts in Australia. Rose Agencies is a business name of Stephen John Cutts (ABN 25 574 875 378).

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for any marketing messages we send.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to deal with you.

  • Enquiries: your name, business name, email address, phone number, location and the details you choose to give us about your store, products or project.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your name, mobile number and email address, and a record of when you agreed to receive the newsletter.
  • Business dealings: if you become a customer or a represented brand, we keep the business contact details and order information needed to place and follow up orders.

We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health, religious or political information), and please don’t send it to us.

You can contact us without giving your name, for example by phoning with a general question. We will need contact details to reply to a written enquiry, arrange a visit or take an order.

How we collect it

Directly from you: through the forms on this website, by email, by phone or in person. Sometimes we receive business contact details from a brand we represent, for example when a retailer has asked that brand to be contacted by an agent.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange visits, catalogues and trade pricing.
  • To place orders with the brands we represent and follow them up.
  • To send the Rose Agencies newsletter, only if you have asked for it.
  • To keep business records we are required to keep, for example for tax.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

The newsletter

We only send the newsletter to people who have ticked the box to receive it. Every newsletter identifies Rose Agencies, includes our contact details and has an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by emailing or phoning us. We act on unsubscribe requests within five working days.

We use your mobile number to contact you about the newsletter or your business with us. We will not send marketing text messages unless you separately agree to receive them.

Who we share it with

  • Brands we represent: when you place an order or ask about a brand’s range, we pass the details needed for that order or enquiry to that brand.
  • Service providers: businesses that help run this website and deliver email for us (see below). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
  • When required by law: for example to a government agency where the law requires it.

Service providers and overseas storage

This website is hosted by Vercel, and messages from our website forms are delivered by email through Resend. Both are based in the United States. Newsletter sign-ups (your name, mobile number and email address) are stored with our newsletter provider, MailerLite, which may store data outside Australia, including in the European Union and the United States. Our email account may also store messages on servers outside Australia. So information you submit through the website may be processed or stored overseas. We use reputable providers and only share what they need to provide their service.

Website statistics and cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we start measuring how the website is used, we will use a service that does not identify you, and we will update this policy first.

The website forms use a hidden field and a timer to block spam. These do not identify you.

How we protect and keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including password-protected accounts and secure (HTTPS) connections for the website. We keep information only while we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. If we can’t give you access or make a change, we will tell you why.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact Stephen Cutts:

We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
